The Trestle Board
Editors Notes: Brethren,  First, it is a pleasure to assemble this news letter for you. I hope you find it informative. I am very open to suggestions please email me at , I'm excited for your feedback.  More Importantly, I wanted to share my experience from this past Wednesday. Living in Lombard, I volunteered to drop of our collection to the toys-for-tots warehouse in my town. Not only was it exciting to get to do this, but the gentleman who received our donations was a pretty cool dude. A veteran working for the organization, he showed me around helped me fill out our paper work and then showed me that he too is a brother... currently active in Elmhurst Lodge and a Past Master of a lodge no longer in existence(Tinley; maybe, but don't quote me). I have his contact info and we will be talking next year about how I/we can also give time to the T-F-T endeavor. It's always a breath of fresh air when you realize that no matter what cause you are getting into, there is probably already another mason involved. Have a wonderful Christmas and God Bless -Brother Harry Fries

Masonic Services

Toys For Tots is over! This past Tuesday was our final night with the Toys-For-Tots box and it was staggeringly overfilled. So, a big thank you to the Brethren and their families who contributed. You helped to make some children's Christmas a little brighter.  Tornado Relief
As you may already know, tornadoes swept through central Illinois in mid November. Many of the lodges from around the state pulled together to bring relief to the areas that were hit the worst. Wheaton lodge participated in a drive ran by MIB #1178 and Green Dragon #821 (both operating out of Elmhurst Masonic Center). On Saturday November 23rd We dropped of a car load of clothes and nonperishable food to the Elmhurst Masonic Center.  From there brethren from the aforementioned lodges loaded donations (from us and other lodges in the area) on to trucks and drove them down. One of the problems with a drive like this is that the problem persists after the first round of relief is used up... so we are still collecting, if you have anything to donate, please email .   Poinsettias
By the time most of you read this, some of us will already be out delivering poinsettias to the surviving widows of our brothers. This yearly tradition is a cherished outreach by the active brothers and widows alike. Over the years, some of our ladies can fall through the cracks... Please, if you can help us reconnect, please share their contact information with our secretary by emailing .
Scholarship Fundraiser The Bowling outing is slated for Mid-January. More information to come soon. Salvation Army Bell Ringing This is canceled this for this year due to unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances.
