Thanks for the update of the PM list. Going through the list brings back many great memories. As you note, I am the second oldest PM of Wheaton Lodge. While I was the master of Wheaton Lodge forty-two years ago I was only thirty years old when installed. I was one of the lucky ones who was able to served in every line office on the way to becoming master. I was also blessed to have many "old timers" who were my mentors. I personally knew and enjoyed the friendship of forty-five Wheaton Lodge Past Masters going back to E.J. (Ted) Lambe P.M. 1918.
Some "old" history personal: My father and I owned "Sheridan's Barber Shop", on Main street in Wheaton, from 1949 until 1967 (dad was a barber in Wheaton since back in the 1930's owning several shops there. He as also a fifty year member of Wheaton Lodge) when I sold it and went to work for Alcoa. In 1969 I transferred to Dallas and then to Louisville, KY back to Dallas, then to Tulsa OK and back to Dallas where I finally retired in 1997. Over the years I have visited Wheaton many times but have not been there on Lodge night. My parents were Matron and Patron of Wheaton Order of the Eastern Star in 1959 and my brother Dave Sheridan is still a member of Wheaton Lodge although he lives in Park Forest. Two of my sons are Masons in Oklahoma and one is presently JR. Deacon of his Lodge. Enough about me. I again want to commend you and Wheaton Lodge on a great web-site and good luck to you on your travels through Masonry. I hope you will enjoy your time as much as I have.
Fraternally,
Jim Sheridan P.M. 1968
